You’ve discovered my World Race blog!

My name is Monet Lightner and I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in Melbourne, Florida so I love the beach (because that’s all there is to do in sweet ole Melbourne, Florida). I went to college at the University of North Florida located in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated in 2019 with my Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. In October of 2020, I passed the state exam to become a credentialed and registered dietitian in the state of Florida. I’ve almost been a dietitian for a whole year yet I’ve only actively used my credentials for about 4-5 months but that’s a different story. JESUS! that’s the real reason why you’re here right. Him and I go way back. I professed Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of seven and I can’t really remember a time that I didn’t believe He existed. Yet, even though I knew He existed I didn’t know how to live that out for myself because I didn’t really go to church much growing up. Although, I did have spiritual influences in my life I was never surrounded by a strong group of believers until recent years. It wasn’t until the past few years that Jesus made Himself very real to me on a deep and personal level. So you fellow Christians know what this means, out with the old and in with the new! Becoming a new creation in Christ is no cake walk…it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Yet, I know it’s the one and only way to live because it’s the only way I feel at peace at a soul level. As we all know, the sanctification process continues until we take our last breath here on earth. The World Race is my next best step in this journey and a catalyst to fall more in love with Jesus and trusting Him with ALL. I’ll be using this blog to keep everyone updated on how Jesus is working in not only my experience but also in the lives of others as we travel the world!
