I was inspired to write this after I finished “Don’t waste your life” by John Piper. GO READ IT! (Amazon link below) or if you won’t read it go watch the sermon (also linked below).

Do you ever stop and take a moment away from all the distractions and things in your busy life and think “Is there more than this?”. The dream job, the nice car, the house, the spouse you share it with or the one wish you had, the money in the bank or the money you long for, the stuff you pine over, the dream life you could only fantasize about but seems far from reality. We’re taught MORE is better but what do we give up to try and achieve this? Our time, deep and intimate relationships, hopes, dreams, our sense of self.  Our society shapes the way we think, speak, dress, our desires, and the way we treat others. We are all molded to be just like everyone else…to fit in…to be “normal”. Are you really okay with this? Or are you willing to give it all up for something more exquisite, beautiful, and profound? Are you willing to be uncomfortable to find true freedom? “For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” (Matthew 16:25 NKJV). Jesus is the One who can set us free from all the tangible and gift us with a life that is truly FULL on every level. This brings a feeling of deep peace that can never be attained through anything of this world. We were created for an eternity with our Creator. This life is a blimp in time in comparison to the vastness of eternity. “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”(James 4:14 NIV). It is so easy for us to get caught up in our comfort that we become stagnant in our spiritual and emotional maturity. If I haven’t lost you at this point and have struck a curiosity in you…I pray Jesus sets your heart on fire for Him and shows you how YOU can best serve His Kingdom. This looks different for everyone. He knows ALL parts of you…so trust Him in deciding what’s next. I know this isn’t easy and feels quite impossible. I promise you He will give you better than you could have ever imagined for yourself. He knows the end product of who we truly are not the shell we have formed due to all the pain and heartache we’ve gone through. Jesus can heal all you just have to let him take the wheel.
